XP2500 Barton or XP2600 Barton?

I was just about to buy a 2500 barton to replace my 2100 tbred when I
noticed a 2600 barton for not very much more.

I know all about how the 2500 can overclock to 3200 speeds, but I know
nothing about the 2600. Is it the same story (but maybe overclocking to
XP3400 speeds?!) or are there issues with this chip.

I have an abit nf7-s (v1.1.) and 3x256mb Twinmos PC3200. I currently run my
XP2100 at 213x9 (1917mhz-ish) which is a nice FSB speed, but disappointing
CPU speed (there are problems if I exceed 1950 at ANY fsb speed).

Please reply quickly as the cheapest source of 2500s round my way are nearly
out of stock.

there are two versions of the XP 2600(2.08GHz and 384KB Cache (L1+L2))
and (1.91GHz and 640KB Cache (L1+L2))

both the above chips and the XP 2500 can be overclocked to XP 3200
speeds as is true of most XP processors. As long as you get a much
better hatsink and and fan the stock one won't work.

I would go with the 2500 and use the extra cash saved to buy a better
heatsink.
