Did you format it first?

If you read my previous post it's easy to guess I rarely use CDRW. I
have the Verbatim 10x CDRW that came with my Plextor 12/10/32A drive
and the disk has been used a dozen times or so, but not for several
months. I mostly burn CDRs. I just bought some new Memorex 8x - 12x
CDRW disks and EZCD Creator says both brands are Non-Recordable and
asks me to insert a different disk. Doing a full erase does not help.

I put one of my old 2x CDRW disks in the drive and it records fine.
What's going on?

Ike,

My personal experience is that Memorex is not compatible with all
drives and suffers from quality control issues. In other words, they
suck.

Problem solved. It turns out the Memorex CDRW disks work fine when I
use something other than EZCD. Nero and EAC both will burn them.

I had major problems with memorex cdrw disks and DirectCD.

I dropped Easy CD Creator and use NTI, which comes with FileCD, and can
use the cheapo memorex again without problems.

Indeed. It worries me that the beta process did not pick up on this bug,
but it would probably have got the attention of the relevant people at
Roxio much faster, if certain members of this group who are known for
exaggerating issues hadn't started a campaign over it. Think about it,
everyone knows smh posts crap, therefore there is a natural feeling
towards everything he posts being crap; which means people ignore it
when he actually posts something important/useful. This is just my
thinking of course, based on my personal experiences.

Now you are blaming Sammy etc for the bugs in the program being there
for so long. Get real!

As you know Sammy does not even use the program, so his posts are only
repeating the problems that other people have posted.

Next you will be blaming Sammy for adding water to your half empty Vodka
