Default Armada M300 battery

Hi-

I've got an M300 with (I think) a dodgy battery. The guage on it says full,
the battery software says full but unplug the mains and the machine dies
unceremoniously. Testing the 8 connector rings on the (4 cell) battery, I
can't get more than 2.5V across any two, so I think the battery's dead, but
I can't find any decent technical data anywhere, so can't be totally sure
its the battery and not the notebook thats at fault. Any ideas where I might
find useful information?

Thanks

Rob W

Sounds a lot like a NiCAD battery that has a ghost charge. This is
usually due to the battery not being occasionally fully discharged and then
fully recharged. older NiCADs are more subject to this. Unfortunately I do
not know of a cure.

If you can find a MOBO diagram, it should tell you what the input
voltage ranges are on the laptop side. IMHO, rarely will you see a decent
battery schematic except from a battery manufacturers site.
