Have you demonstrated to Adrian (or anyone else) that you actually
have the software? As I civilly pointed out to Don Sterner, if you
aren't sharing the pain, you are just another barking dog. Most of
us try to ignore dogs barking in the night.

What a load of crap. As I said earlier, I did buy ECDC 3.x
(twice) and I suffered through the endless month of bugs and
delayed buggy fixes. I have no intention of repeating that
mistake. It seems to be your contention that, even though I know
ECDC4 is full of bugs, I have no right to comment on them in this
newsgroup unless I'm fool enough to give Adaptec another bundle
of money for what I know is a marginal product at this point (at
best). I don't need to share the pain this round - I've been
there, done that for the past couple of years. I don't have any
intention of doing it again if I can avoid it - and if a few
people don't want to read my posts because I'm not a fool - they
can feel free to kill file me. As I said earlier, I couldn't care
less.

I doubt that I'm the only one who notices the tendency of those
who hold untenable positions to reduce the discussions to the
level of personal attack.

Even the Adaptec representative seems to be taking that path now.

What did I say about you personally? Just because you take personally

pointing out your illogical "positive marketing spin", do not make them
personal attacks. Branding them as personal attacks, which conjures the

another misinformation -- here's another personal attack?

You do not have to use 4 letter words to qualify as gutter language.
Your calling me "bad"; get down from the high horse; wondering whether I

Here we go again. This is a known issue that is being worked on at
this time. It has been discussed extensively on the Adaptec CD-R
mailing list.

Just because it has not made it to the web site yet does not mean
that we do not know about.

I expect that Sam will get on his high horse and reply to this,
he probably has nothing better to do.

Many issues are going to be cleared up in the next update
but I can not discuss which at this time.

"Here we go again" is exactly right -- only it applies to you. Same
refrain: We are aware of, working on it, etc. And that's exactly
what I pointed out.

Stop using "next update" unless you know definitely the particular
bug being discussed is going to be fixed in that update -- that's
mis-information.

But your site is presented in a way that gives the reader the
impression that all known problems are listed - that they'll not
have other difficulties if they buy your product. In fact, what
you are now saying is that some known problems aren't listed
there intentionally. I wonder why. Sounds very misleading to me.

It seems sad that an official representative of Roxio should make
such a comment. It was totally unwarranted and aggressive.

Any tech support person should be used to "spoon feeding" and
should not make an issue of a customer's knowledge (or lack of it).
It doesn't require a great deal of effort to be nice to people and
a more helpful attitude could generate a few more sales.

According to another Roxio shill that posts here, Adrian is not tech
support, but marketing. Really knows how to create a corporate image,
huh?

Technically he is. But whenever somebody brings up woefull,
non-existent tech support, these cRoxio-Acraptec Goon Squad jump on you
saying what a wonderful tech support he provides.

( Nobody, it seems, to understand that cRoxio-Acraptec created the POS
in the first place, requiring much help, and that they do not provide
adequate help thru proper channels. )

They further add that no other software companies come to these NGs to
help out. (This is like you stab somebody and then getting kudos for
bandaging the person.)

But then whenever somebody brings up no help is forthcoming from him,
then the same cRoxio-Acraptec Goon Squad jump on you saying he's nothing
but a marketing, doing beyond his call of duty, getting yet more kudos.

Also, when somebody points out that he spams, then the Goon Squad
immediately jump on the person saying for all the things he
"contributes" a little shenanigans should be tolerated or even
permitted.

commercialism.

Sam, you are putting words into my mouth again. Please stop.

What words did I put into your mouth? I quoted all of your posts
intact, without any editing, without omitting anything, without
adding anything. The whole enchilada EXACTLY. Did I leave out any
"important" bit? Again, what words did I put into your mouth?
Please spit out the words I am supposed to have put into your mouth.

I did not say he had to upgrade to 4.02,

Did I say you said "have to?" Are you putting words into my mouth?
You wrote one single line, "Upgrade to ECDC 4.02" which I quoted
exactly, without adding "have to". Now, who's putting words into
other's mouth?

I presented that as an option

You wrote, "Ugrade to ECDC 4.02." I'm sure everybody would
interpret that it's presented as an option, except me, of course.

and left it open

Some nerve you got to say this. "Upgrade to ECDC 4.02" says so?

so that he could try products from other companies if he wished.

Where did you say this?

He asked if it could be worked around in 3.5c, it can not
so I gave him a straight answer.

So you gave him a "straight answer" with "Ugrade to ECDC 4.02"?
Does this jibe with your assertion that you presented to him
"as an option" and "left it open"?

You wrote, "I don't think this effect 4.0." But when you wrote
"Ugrade to ECDC 4.02", you do think 4.0 is not affected, I presume.

To your "Upgrade to ECDC 4.02", I asked "Does it handle file stamp
of year 2041?" Why didn't you respond? You didn't respond because
4.x has the same prob with file stamps, just like 3.5c.

Knowing this and yet saying to upgrade to 4.02 is a FRAUD!!!

I can not recommend using Nero or non-Roxio products
as I have never used them,

Would you have recommended them if you used them?

much as you can not comment on ECDC 4 as you have never used it.

Why the hell not?

Does Acraptec allow quoting others' comments in Usenet?
Does Acraptec own Usenet?

Get lost!
