memory upgrade
hi all
my PC is about 3 years old and has 512mb of RAM memory. I want to increase this to 1GB. I have a couple of other older PCs that run Windows 98. Is it possible to cannibalise the RAM from these? I know there are different kinds of RAM but know nothing specific about how it all works. Can someone point me in the right direction so I can learn more about this..? Cheers |

Maybe, depends on how old they are. The obvious first thing to check is whether they are physically the same size, if the older PCs are old enough, they will be simms and those are physically obviously different to dimms. If they are physically the same, post the Everest report on the memory in all the PCs. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4181 I know there are different kinds of RAM but know nothing specific about how it all works.
