Default Armada m300 Screen Problem

Ok, I'll try to explain this so it makes sense. I recently bought an
armada m300 used on ebay. I got it, and everything worked fine. It is
a pIII 500 with 193ram and running xp pro. The display started to go
bad (it was running at 1024x768) so I replaced the lcd. The lcd that I
replaced it with was only a 800x600 11.3 inch screen. I returned that
screen and bought the correct 11.3 (1024x768) screen but now 800x600 is
the only resolution that will fit the screen, if I change the adapter
to 1024x768 it just makes my desktop larger and makes the display
scrolling (larger than the screen). I have tried connecting the old
flickering lcd and the same thing happens so, I don't believe it is an
lcd problem. HELP.

Thanks

In display settings, what default monitor is shown? Laptop display
panel at 800 x 600 or at 1024 x 768? Update the monitor driver, select
from list, find the laptop display panel at the correct resolution.
