Default Armada E5000 - CD-RW Problem

Armada E5000 - CD-RW Problem - OS - WIN98 SE

I have just replaced my "COMPAQ DVD-ROM - DRN8080B" with a
"TOSHIBA DVD-ROM - SD-R2102"

The system recognises the new drive but non of my burning
software sees the drive as a writer. I assume I need a
driver for the CD-RW but when I visit the Toshiba site they
say the drive doesn't need one.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
Regards

You don't need a driver. You need an update for your burning software to a
version that supports the drive. Check out their websites.

Uh, am I missing something here? A DVD-ROM is not a burner.

That particular model is a combo DVD/CD-RW drive.
