I saw the nice review in Tom's but am not clear whether it supports the Core
2 Duo or not based on Intel's website.

I've seen several various forum's postings that say that revision 302
does not, but revision 304 DOES support conroe. (304 or 3.04?)

I ran across some article somewhere that 'appeared' official, but it
wasn't an Intel web site. Of course, I can't find that article now.

Here is mobo at newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813121016

Look at reviews.......however, I don't know if people are correct in
saying that 304 supports conroes, or are parroting what they've heard
elsewhere (which is what I'm doing, but I'm up front about it).

I've also seen references to some sort of mod (I assume meaning some
sort of hardware adaptor) for 302 boards.

Also seen references to: In addition to needing 304 mobo, will also
need a 'yet to be released BIOS update'.

Bottom line - I don't think anyone can say with absolute certantity,
until the conroe or Core 2 Duo cpu's are actually released.

Personally, I'm waiting for release of the Core 2 Duo's in late June,
then hopefully revision 304 of these mobo's will be out in general
circulation.

Thanks - it looks like a pretty good motherboard and I too am waiting until
june/july before I start building my new system. I'll wait until some
perforamance reviews are out comparing the new Core2 vs. AM2 in independent
labs. The initial reviews are promising but I won't assume anything until I
see some more reviews in labs outside of Intel. Hopefully Toms and
Anandtech will get some final production samples to test soon.
