cooling fan and power supply sufficient?

I have a Athlon XP 3200+ running 1 Gig of RAM and going to add a
Nvidia 5900 AGP card to it. I don't plan on doing any overclocking
now. Is a second fan near the front of the case necessary or overkill
at this point?

I have an Antec case which seems to have pretty good ventillation so
far but it does have an optional fan slot in the front of the case
behind the hard drive enclosure.

Also, I have a 350W power supply. Is it sufficient for my system? I
am running 2 optical drives, will be replacing 2 EIDE drives with 2
SATA drives and of course the Nvidia 5900 video card plus one 120mm
case fan.

You probably won't need it, but check your temps and see.

Noise goes way up with front fans. Often they're unneccessary.

The power supply is fine, as long as it's a good brand name (such as antec).
If it's not, then replace it with an enermax, fortron, seasonic or
thermaltake (some other good ones as well). The second fan near the front
of the case is necessary. It won't cost you hardly anything if you add it
to the order for the 5900 AGP card. If it's noise you are worried about,
try the following. -Dave

Don't be turned off by the name or the blue LEDs. This fan is cheap and
quiet. There's no reason not to add it, assuming your fan opening is
0mm. -Dave

Cut 4 120mm holes in the side onf the case and put 4 fans blowing in


Cut atleast 2 hols int he top of your cases with 2 120mm fans blowing
out :0

Atleast 2 80mm fans on the back blowing out.

Also if you have room 1 120mm at the bottom front of your case blowing
in, if not enough room 1 or 2 80mm fans.

When you do this you will not have temp problem anymore.

could also leave the case open and put a large fan next to it

You got a real, brand name case? You lucky dog. Mine has no name,
no warrenty. Case and 420 W PSU together, $35. Not bad, for the price.

That's inspired! Your cooling would go up, your noise level would
go down, and you could upgrade the fan at Wal-Mart for $20. Plus,
in the summer it would cool your feet.

AHH forgot, hook them all up to a fan controler and run them all at 7
volts when the noise is to much at night or so, my pc is very quiet,
not thatmany fans though, top 120mm,bottom 120mm, side 120mm, two rear
80mm, Zalman 7000aCu cpu cooler, Zalman noisless 400watt pSU, and a
Zalman fanless Vidcard cooler

Very happy with my cool and quiet pc system.

All runnning at 7 volts.
