Default LowestOnTheWeb (Evesham) - Timewasters - (long-ish)

Was going to order a 19in Viewsonic VX912 TFT from them last week, and
noticed their "Beat It" promo, where they claim they will beat any
genuine UK offer. So I had a shop around and found the same Viewsonic
VX912 at Savastore for £30 less, so entered the required info, provided
a link etc...

after a 2 day wait, they declined the pricematch, without any
explaination, I assume it was because Savastore were listing 2-3 days
availability -fair enough I suppose....

Another quick search found the same monitor again at Overclockers.co.uk
for £20 cheaper, and it was instock, LOTW have no reason not to price
match this one, as it's a genuine instock and inline with all their
T&C's for the price match. WRONG... 2 days later, the pricematch was
declined again, and no explianation again.

Have now decided to wait until the new year when there will be better
availability and possibly better prices. When I do order, it cerainly
won't be these timewasters...

I did however learn 2 things:

1/ LowestOnTheWeb's pricematch is not worth the paper it's written on,
it's just a big timewaster

2/ LowestOnTheWeb are anything but, there are cheaper vendors elsewhere.

I will certainly be avoiding them in the future...

3/ Lowestontheweb and their sister company, Evesham, are unrepentant
spammers. Do you want to put money into a spammer's pockets?

corresponding line - then enter the price you've seen (including VAT and any
delivery charge), "

Just ordered that screen from Microdirect , all in next day delivery £388.

next day.

Cheers, just bit the bullet, and ordered from MD... Will kick myself in
the new year when it's £60 cheaper, but then that's the way it goes!!
The satisfaction of not spending my money at Evesham is worth it :-)

Monitor winging it's way to me, it's just kinda annoying that I had to
have my first order delivered to my card address, and the hassle of
driving to the depot to collect it, as there will be nobody home. It
seems lunacy, the courier companies must be driven mad by all these
useless deliverys where nobody will be home, but they are doing it
"because of the system".

But they *are* the system.
