Default DLT tape drive from as AS/400 on Windows and Linux ?

I have a crack at a canabalized AS/400 and there are two IBM-badged
DLT drives on it. Is there any reasony why these shouldn't work on a
windows or linux system as long as I have a SCSI card with the
matching cable interfaces on it ?
