*PC Won't Keep Time Dispite New Battery
The laptop I'm working on wasn't keeping time. I checked the cmos battery
and it was almost dead. I bought a new one and it tested perfect. Why could it be that the time still isn't being kept when I reboot. It still reverts to 2002! -- Warmest regards, Steve Horrillo |

I read an article about a desktop pc with the same problem.
2 solutions were muted. The make of the battery and the battery socket. It turned out to be the socket and after a quick fiddle around with it it worked fine. Hope this helps. Mike Ps just thought that some laptops have a special cmos battery .. "Steve Horrillo" wrote in message news The laptop I'm working on wasn't keeping time.
