Digital Cameras
Does anyone know of a Digital Camera that will shoot a close up picture
at 1:1. I want to try to copy some old prints that way rather than using the scanner Bob in Wisconsin |

Once you have that image you can output it in any size you like. The original picture has a granularity that doesn't correspond to any particular resolution but the higher the true resolution (not upsampled) the better the result should be... you can always downsize a picture but increasing it's resolution won't increaes detail so it appears blurrier. The choice of camera should be one that is able to be mounted on a platform to keep it perfectly stable. Generally speaking a scanner will do a much better job than a camera. Dave |

The only time a camera would be better is if the prints are poster sized, or mounted so they can't go into a scanner. |
