Default Digital Cameras

Does anyone know of a Digital Camera that will shoot a close up picture
at 1:1. I want to try to copy some old prints that way rather than using
the scanner

There really isn't such a thing as "1:1", the camera has a native
resolution and will only "capture" that much detail. Once you have
that image you can output it in any size you like. The original
picture has a granularity that doesn't correspond to any particular
resolution but the higher the true resolution (not upsampled) the
better the result should be... you can always downsize a picture but
increasing it's resolution won't increaes detail so it appears
blurrier. The choice of camera should be one that is able to be
mounted on a platform to keep it perfectly stable.

Generally speaking a scanner will do a much better job than a camera.

If you can't get a scanner to do what you want, a camera definately
will NOT make it easier.

The only time a camera would be better is if the prints are poster
sized, or mounted so they can't go into a scanner.

Thanks for the Info. Guess I have to get a better scanner. Bought a Xerox
M940 but the scanner never did work right {OFF-COLOR} :bad Joke:
