Default P4 thermal throttling Q

how do you tell if the cpu is throttling? at the moment i have it set to
50% in BIOS (but only because this was the default). mb is P4P800-s, cpu is
P4 2.4C @ 3.0GHz. tia!

Applications will slow down, and if you are in a game frame rates will
drastically be reduced. This I know from experience. :^) Of course I also
had MBM set to alarm at that temp also so I knew it was throttling down due
to heat.

lol, I have the same here, but I can't get it hot enough to throttle down.
