I got the AMD Athlon 64 +3000 a few weeks ago and just ran a proformance
test i was looking at the system info and it said that hyperthreading was "not capable". It was wondering why it was not capable. |

Actually AMD and Intel have a "technology shared agreement" over
hyperthreading. |

Also what is the best cpu cooler. I haven't seen a comparison for K8 coolers yet so I'd pick the TR2-M6 ($7) and maybe get a 5000rpm fan to replace the 2500rpm very quiet fan if need be. But considering it works well on the XP, I don't see why it won't on the K8. And I don't think you can beat the price by much.:-) http://www.tr2tt.com/English/products.htm -- Abit KT7-Raid (KT133) Tbred B core CPU @2400MHz (24x100FSB) http://mysite.verizon.net/res0exft/cpu.html |

Could be but AMD will still have to pay Intel royalties to use it. Well Intel is using AMD 64bit Code in there future CPU's for 64bit compatibility. I just read that Intel says their not going to use any of the same
technology as AMD, instead opting to create their own and it will not be compatible with AMD's. Therefore, all the software developers, like Microsoft have announced delays in their release dates of 64 bit software because they have to wait on Intel so the software will be able to work with both CPU's extentions. Sounds like Intel is just screwing things up. -- AMD Athlon 64 3200+ MSI K8T NEO FIS2R Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2PRO matched pair PNY Verto GeForce FX 5900 SE Maxtor 160GB SATA 7200 8MB Emprex DVD Dual 8x DVDRW LG 16x DVD Antec TruePower PSU 350W Windows XP Home Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Optical mouse Total Cost: $1556.94, All bought at Fry's Electronics at retail costs.
