Default Suggestion?

I am planning to buy a new graphic card since my FX5200 is a bit outdated.
My system setup is Celeron 1.7Mhz,AGP4X,512MB RAM.

I have check up all the sites I have known, the Nvidia official sites, even
newsroom here, and seems makes thing more complicated.

From what I know, a 128bit graphic chip is faster than 64bit one, but from
Nvidia on 6200, the 64bit one seems faster than 128bit, fill rate 1.4billion
as 1.2, and vertice/s in 262 Million as to 225. More astonishingly, 5950
Ultra is a lot faster than 6600. Since my PC is a bit old and on budget
too, 6800 & 7 seriesis out of the question.

Anyone can help out here as which card should I buy? 5950 seems good but
lack of pixel v3.0. So the choice should be around 6200 and 6600.

Thanks for the help.

p.s. I use the PC mainly on gaming but I isn't that picky, a few drop of
frame-rate is acceptable and I use 5200 to complete Half Life 2 and Doom3!

On my Ath 2800+ I got a 6600GT. This is almost as powerful as the 6800
series. I am very happy with it. It only had 128-memory but it works
well w. recent games such as Oblivion that stress the GPU.

what about the 64bit and 128bit comparison?

I just found another sites:
6600GT fill rate:4billion vertice:375million
6800XT fill rate:2.4billion vertice:300million

6600GT sure is faster

The 6800XT is different from other 6800 cards like the 6800NU and 6800GT and
Ultra.
It's a POS comparitively.

but comparing to 6600 series! Seems like people can't just buy the card via
the chip number but have to causious with the performance, as a 6200 might
be as good as 6600!!

Exactly.It's a big PIA.you gotta look at 64bit vs. 128 bit. GDDR2 Vs. GDDR3
etc.,etc.

still no one able to help me with the 64bit and 128bit differences!!

Which should I check on the speed of the graphic card? The fill rate?
Vertice/s? or the pixel per clock?

A 6200 running on 64/128bit the comparison as in fill rate/vertice/pixel is:
64 bit - 1.4billion,262 million,4
128bit - 1.2billion,225,4
from the figure shows, 64bit running faster than 128bit!!

Another from my old 5200(MSI FX5200-T128)card
don't know about the memory interface but the fill rate/vertice/pixel is
1.3billion,81million,8
5200 has a larger pipeline? and in term of fill rate, they are all the same!

the 64/128bit 6200 is around the double price, but in term of speed, how
many percent of increment? Worth and the double for a bit of speed?
