Default Heat sink Question?

Will a heat sink made for a Socket Type:370 and Socket A work on a Socket 7?

Not without modification. Since a heat sink is simply a block of
metal, so long as you can make contact with the surface you're trying
to draw heat from, it will work.

I guess the answer is no, but as with most things, if you're
persistant enough, you can MAKE it work.

It can work, but you need be sure the clip isn't too stiff and breaks
the socket lugs, the later socket 7 CPUs were taller.

Also many socket 7 boards had less room around the socket, so it'd
have to be a relatively small socket 370 or 'A' 'sink.

It depends on the specific heatsink and motherboard.
