Default apropos bitcoin miners and graphic cards

So they have been nabbing lots of high-end cards.
The corollary is then that when one of these enterprises either
upgrades, or ceases business, then they will be dumping a load of
used cards on the market.

Was the warehouse air-conditioned or not ?

I think that is likely if you are running a rack of monster cards.
Unless they use immersion cooling, which means somebody had to pull
all the fans off those graphics cards.
