Default New printers compatible with Windows 2000

My printer went out and I am stuck with Windows 2000 for the time being. No new printers I saw today had Win2000 listed in their specs. All are for Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8.

Anyone know how to connect Win2000 computer with one of those printers, or any other low dollar printer? Or where to find a decent older printer?

These are the printers I saw today, all for XP and later....

Canon MG2220
Canon MG 3520
HP 2512

Before USB, I used a Canon BJC-5100 for years until it wore out. I would be happy with simple printer like that one.

Look at the full driver specs they do list WIN 2000.

Sorry my mistake I did not select WIN 2000, come up no driver but the
Brother does list WIN 2000 in its specs.

Why not go for a Cheap Laser like a Brother HL 2240D or the basic HL
2130 has Win 2000 support and very cheap to run and the Toner prints
does not run when wet

My HL 2240D cost me only $50nz and about 1c a page to print..

I cant stand Bubble Jet printers at all.

I have 4 printers and none are Bubble jets.

Epson is still selling the C88+, which is listing drivers for Win 2000, and
is still easily able to have its cartridges refilled with a simple chip
resetter. Cost $109.

At least with some HP printers, you can use the basic printer part using
a stock Windows driver. Often, the DeskJet 990 or similar 9xx series
will do in a pinch.

Thanks Frank. Which one(s) do you see for Win2000? The specs I see on each only list XP and later.

Thanks Andrew.

Do any of the other major printer makers have Win2000 drivers for their new machines? Even if the old OS computer only make up 5% of the market, they are still losing a decent amount of sales.

I was doing a bit of looking awhile ago and didn't find anything
obvious. The best bet may to check out eBay or similar for an older
printer that has has Win2K drivers.
