Default FAT32 or NTFS: Will my hard drive really care?

Greetings,

I have a Gateway Performance 1400 with a Maxtor 20 GB 4K020H1 hard drive.
This is original equipment. My entire computer is original equipment.

I am going to do a Clean Install of Windows XP full retail version.

Will my hard drive accept NTFS as well as FAT32, which it came with?

I am curious and would like to know.

Thank you in advance for your help, comments, and insight.

Yes, NTFS is a possible XP setup option, and preferred by many over FAT32. And,
yes, your hard drive will work just fine with XP and NTFS.
