Default Can You Use Generic SATA Drives in Compaq SATA RAID Arrays?

One of the nice features of the 4000 series fibre channel arrays was that
you could get away with using generic hotswap SCSI drives in the arrays, as
long as you had Compaq trays for them. Do the newer SATA RAID arrays have
the ability to use generic SATA drives in Compaq hotswap trays?
