Default NAS supplier who releases regular firmware updates

I am searching for a NAS supplier resp. NAS model that releases firmware
updates with security and bug fixes on a regular basis and as fast as
possible and also provides longer term support (i.e. more than 2 years)

The NAS model should be a 4-bay one with RAID, encryption support and
minor power consumption (i.e. good stand-by values). It is for private
use, not business related.

Any supplier resp. model you would recommend?

e.g. QNAP?

Thanks!

regards, Udo

If you want to buy one, contact iXsystems:

If you feel like building your own, check out FreeNAS, which is
FreeBSD-based software solution (also a product of iXsystems, but with
only user-to-user support) that runs on a reasonable range of non-crappy
