KD7-S fails to boot to POST
I have just bought a Abit KD7-S, PC2700 memory(512MB) Gainward GeForce
FX5200 graphics card, 450W PSU and AMD XP2600+ FSB333 processor. The only time I get to the POST screen, ie the monitor light is green, not orange) is when I erase the BIOS. It comes up with several messages : "Processor unworkable or has been changed - Please reboot - CPU SOFTMENU" or "loading default BIOS settings" If I press F1 to continue, get to DOS prompt from boot floppy, all is fine (can't see SATA HDD at the mo, but that is another problem). Pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL to reboot, nothing appears on the screen. I have upgraded to BIOS 13 (date 4th April 2003) - no difference. Any ideas? |
