Default AI7 strange overclock problem

Hi

The problem im having is 98% of 3D games either crash to the desktop or
reset the comp within minutes of running when the cpu is overclocked no
problems at standard.

I can over clock the cpu by raising the fsb to say 215 taking the cpu upto
3gig and memory at 420 mhz and the comp is prime95 stable (6 hours) memtest
stable (ran for hours with 768meg no errors), even tried running them both
at the same time for hours with no problems.

The vid card overclocks from 390/700 standard to 450/760 no problems but im
leaving this at the default for now until i clear up the reset or crash to
desktop fault when the cpu's o/c'ed.

The agp/pci are fixed at 66/33 so it says in the bios and on the boot screen
although id like to some software to prove this.
The rest of the bios is pretty much at default.

I have tried upping cpu volts , agp voltage and ddr supply with no
improvement in stability, although the volt increase does show up in abit EQ

I'm beginning to suspect the psu as its branded a as a Bliss power supply
model atx - 300, although all the voltages are within spec using both abit
eq and a voltmeter to test 12 and 5 volt lines.
12 volt fluctuates about 0.3v from 11.95 to 11.67 and the 5 volt line about
0.2v from 4.95 to 4.75.
Cpu temps get to about 55c max , system 47c max , pwm 56c max and thats when
overvolted a bit.

Memory , vid card and cpu were in an albatron mobo and ran flawlessly when
o/c'ed to 3.2 gig with mem at 430 mhz pci at 66/33.

Heres the comp specs.

Abit AI7 mainboard
PIV 2.8C cpu with Thermaltake spark p7 heatsink/fan
4 * 256 kingston memory
Sparkle fx5900xt
120 gig (8meg cache) WD hd (pata)
Imation 24*10*40 cd burner
Onboard sound and lan
runnning winxp pro

Any ideas where to go from here any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards torr
