Default Enemy Territory - CPU not fast enough?

When I run ET, it gets to the part in the box where it says detecting
Pentium III cpu. Then the screen goes black and sends me back to XP
desktop.

Now this system is compliant with the minimum standards(XP,256 ram,AIW
VE) except that I'm at 550 not 600mhz.

Is it kicking me out just because of that?

Just to claify I get this:

3729 files in pk3 files
execing default.cfg
couldn't exec language.cfg
couldn't exec autoexec.cfg
Hunk_clear: reset the hunk ok
....detecting CPU, found Intel Pentium III
Bypassing CD checks

Sounds like it may be an OpenGL problem. Which video card do you have?

600 MHz P3 is the MINIMUM to run the game! It will BARELY run SLOWLY with
that CPU. Yours obviously won't run at all.

No, make sure you have the latest drivers for your card. It's almost certainly a
directx/openGL issue.

Found the solution.

It's the old(?) ALL IN WONDER / OPEN GL problem.

Just because the word Radeon was not in the CAT 3.9 drivers description
for all Radeon based AIW's OPEN GL games would not run.

Go figure.

There's a hotfix for it and i'm sure CAT 3.10 fixed it.
