Asus to Intel Questions
I am planning to change an Asus MB to an Intel MB. Will be changing CPU
also. Will I be able to use my copy of XP ? My HD is going to be used again so do I reformat it first or what to get rid of all the Asus drivers and install the Intel . Can I just power down and change out every thing an set the bios on the Intel to boot off the XP cd or first boot off the Intel cd?? Larry |

Possibly, but it doesn't always work properly, in fact I've had the repiar install completely refuse to work in this situation. And even when it does work, the registry is full of the same old crap that was probably slowing the PC down before the change. It's up to the o/p, but I would say do a clean install. SteveH |

Its identical to a clean install except that the settings are preserved. And even when it does work, the registry is full of the same old crap that was probably slowing the PC down before the change. There's **** all of that with a properly maintained system and that is an entirely separate issue when it isnt properly maintained. It's up to the o/p, but I would say do a clean install. No need, it works fine unless the original install is ****ed up. |

Asus to Intel Questions
I would suggest CLEAN INSTALL due to the fact that the registry (and
all the spyware crap in it) would be saved between repair installs, sooo start fresh, it's better this way trust me.. |
