Default WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

All,

CPU: New 2.4 Intel. The chip, fan, & heatsink came together in a
factory box.

Board: New ASUS motherboard. The board will support a chip up to
3.06.

Problem: I recently upgraded my RAM from PC100 to PC2700 and the CPU
fan speed increased to 3K RPM from say, 1.5K. I have the SETI program
continuously going so the computer is probably always maxed out on CPU
usage. The fawking computer sounds as like those Japanese crotch
rockets that drive down the freeway going 150 MPH but the system does
not freeze/lockup/etc… Does this CPU fan speed increase sound normal?
When I close the SETI program the fan slows down some but still
sounds faster than with the PC100.

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Thanks,

Mr. Class
