SCSI block or streaming commands
Is there any advantage(s) using SCSI block commands (SBC) against SCSI
streaming commands (SSC) over Fibre Channel for large file transfers (streaming)? Which one is more efficient? Does any one have seen such topic being discussed or analyzed? Your input and direction is truly appreciated. Regards, Zen |

SCSI block or streaming commands
In additon to my previous question just for clarification.
Our application uses a solid-state disk which can emulate either a disk for a tape for large file transfer or data streaming. We would like to find out which emulating mode (disk or tape and thereof its associating SCSI protocol ) is more efficient for large file tranfer or data streaming in FCP (SCSI protocol for Fibre Channel) network. Does anyone know any related analysis is done somewhere? Regards, Zen |

There's no difference between the protocols as far as efficiency, so any difference you'll see will be due to the emulation. Anton |
