Default SIIG same as Silicon Image?

I've been having trouble with my Promise ATA controllers (known BIOS
issues that Promise apparently doesn't want to fix), so I'm looking
for a replacement. I was originally looking at Adaptec's model 1233,
but haven't been able to find it locally. Someone recommended
"silicon image" but I haven't found that either. The only card I've
found in local stores is SIIG. Is that the same as Silicon Image?

Any recommendations (or warnings) re the boards above or others?
