Default Installing video card without cd

I bought a card from ebay that didn't come with the installation CD. I'm
going to be building a new PC and would like to know how to install this
video card (nVidia Geforce4 MX440) without the CD. Can I just download the
drivers from a website, burn them to a CD and use that?

I'm building this computer from scratch. If I just plug the card into the
mobo's AGP slot and turn it on for the first time will it show the BIOS on
the monitor? Basically what I'm saying is, how will I be able to install
Windows XP, and download the drivers when the video card isn't installed?
(I'm a newbie so please bear with me :-))

yes the bios is BEFORE the OS loads right? so there never is a 'driver'

other than the 'basic in /out' loading at that time, When
windows loads, if there are no native drivers, it will load standard VGA

and then you can load the updated ones.

Ah. I wasn't aware that it could output VGA without a driver. Thanks a
lot.

XP will also load generic drivers for most all video cards so that you will
be able to download the latest drivers even after you install the OS.

This is a common *chicken and egg* query for many first-time builders. You
will get a 640 x 480 resolution without any VGA drivers. This is fine to
install XP and anything else before downloading and installing VGA drivers.
As long as your hardware is set up properly, then you should have no
problems.

Yes,
http://download.guru3d.com/detonator/
but 1st also download and install the correct updated AGP drivers pack
for the mother board chip set and burn that to a CD as well as things
like modem drivers etc.
AIDA32 will tell you the info you need once you get a basic install,
