Default MS 6570 and xp3000 trying for 400fsb

Well guys my new kit came today and I cant for the life of me
get it to run at 200 x 10.5 wont boot at all

I even tried to run it at 133 x 10.5 which is way
underclocked and it still will not boot

My Spec
AMD xp3000 333fsb
MS-6570 (K7n2 ultra ilsr 400mhz)
1 512mb OCZ PC3200 cl2 dimm
Creative FX5600 ultra 128mb ddr
120gb SATA Seagate drive
Coolermaster Aero 7+

Now I can run the cpu perfect at 13
x 166 which is the default spec
with the ram at 166 or 200 both fine

But I belive it is better to have the cpu
and memory at 200fsb even though that
lower's the clock speed abit??

So do you think the cpu is locked to 13x
or do I need to change other settings???

Regards
Oliver

A lot of the nforce mobos seem to have issues with 10x and 10.5x
multipliers. My K7N2 Delta did. Try 200x11. Might boot just fine.

Didnt work I tried 200fsb x 11 with ram at 1:1 ie 200mhz , still wouldnt
boot
It looks my chip is locked to 13x ????? I thought the bartons were unlocked
and even so dont the nforce 2 boards unlock the chip if need be??

btw the bios is v7.40 (latest) from the msi website

Oliver,

Can we assume that you have the K7N2 Delta v2.0 and not the Non Delta
version?
If you do have the non delta version you will have big problems getting over
190 fsb. I couldnt do it so i changed my board for the abit N7F-S ultra 400
board and got to 200fsb first time.
I really hope you did get the Delta board as it would be a big pain in the
ass to find that you wont get 200fsb at least stable anyway.

cheers

Only for a given multiplier range. If the default multiplier on the chip is
13x or higher you have access to anything higher but not lower. Same with
12.5x, then you get only the lower ones. You have to reset the 5th
multiplier bit manually. http://tinyurl.com/l271 This is what I did. Some
newer boards do let you select any multiplier 5-24x out of the box, but it's
not worth abandoning your board, the wire trick is very simple and
completely reversible. I used one strand of speaker wire and some needle
nose pliers. HTH....

Have you tried giving it more voltage? When i tried to run my 2500@
11.5x200 it wouldnt boot until i upped the vcore to 1.85v, I have it
running now at 11x200 and vcore at 1.75v for stability reasons.
Im running OCZ PC3200 Revison 2. 7-3-3-2

Hope this helps

Yep it's the K7N2 Delta ilsr
Ram is OCZ PC3200el , so I just need to unloclk this chip to run 200x10.5

or
maybe x11
I am trying 175x13 with ram at 175 7,3,3,cas2 at the moment

Sandra benchmarks report
Cpu 8445 and 3410
Multimedia 12241 and 13333
Mem bandwidth 2560 and 2441

compare that with the default 166fsb x 13 and ram at 166fsb
Cpu 7891 and 3244
Multimedia 11649 and 12645
Mem bandwidth 2426 2254

Cpu at 34c Systerm at 35c

It's not all good though pc will not shutdown or restart with windows it
sort of tries
to shutdown and go's blank but does not power down, but if I unplug the
power cord
it will reboot agian once plugged back in??

Ideas?

Regards
Oliver

Well I couldnt resist I have done the wire trick on my xp3000+ and
I am now running at 200x11.5 =2.31ghz at 38c with ram like set like you

But I just ran 3Dmark03 and it's giving me a Core speed of 58.5mhz
and memory clock 171.0 for my Creative FX 5600 ultra it's meant to
be 400MHz core speed and memory clock of 2x 400mhz

What the hell is going on here???
