Default Nero - Copy DVD Win XP SP2

My problem is a bit more specific than that described by Mel
After installing SP2, and getting the warning message from Nero, I updated
to v 6.6.0.3.
I can write data to DVD-R and I have no problems writing an .iso to DVD-R.
When I attempt to copy a DVD, I get the error message "Cannot copy this disc
to DVD".
The DVD's I've tried are not copy protected in any way. I just tried to copy
the DVD I made from an .iso of Visual Studio 5 (beta), and I got the same
message. The DVD-R burned from the .iso is correct per CRC and installed
with no issues on a spare hard drive, so I'm pretty sure the source DVD is
OK.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks!

Same here, and yes I should have provided much more detail - I also
should have been in bed asleep ... but luekaemia doesn't always let one,
do what one should!

Since upgrading SP2 - I cannot burn a DVD at all, so I hit the ahead
site and got all the upgrades and now with Nero 6.6.0.3. it for some
reason, has gone even worse. I cannot import any .avi even to recode
before burning.

Damn, and damn ... I of all people do not have hours upon hours do
uninstall SP2, reinstall god knows whatever else, and then maybe it will
work, maybe it won't - and even worse, yesterday, I dumped most of the
restore points. SCREAM~!

Just because you start with an ISO does not mean that the result is not
copy-protected. Try copying a conventional DVD-ROM which you know is not
protected.

In this case, I do know. How? Because I have contacts inside MS as a MS MVP
and Visual Studio beta tester from long before the betas became public.
However, I did try an original DVD (different product) and it copied fine.
If I try to copy the copy, the process fails with the same error message
previously cited.
OTOH, I've had no problems copying the "problem" DVD's using Record Now Max
v4.5.
So, there appears to be something Nero does not like about copying from a
DVD-R.
I cannot honestly say if this behavior is new since I installed SP2. I just
don't recall running into it previously.

Thanks very much for the link and information, Steve.
I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best in future updates.
Nero has become my "Swiss Army Knife" for burning and I'd like to be able to
use just one product, rather than have multiple burning applications. During
this episode, I've learned that RecordNow is now owned by Sonic and that I'd
have to repurchase it to get the newest version. Oddly, my old v4.5
recognizes my Lite-On 16x, double layer, etc. burner, so I'm OK for now.

Happy New Year!

I realize this is an old thread, but I've just downloaded and installed
v6.6.0.6.
All the previous problems with copying DVD-R appear to be fixed.
