Reset CMOS and/or replace CMOS battery. Remove all devices/drives/cards and
determine if any of them are the cause. Dale |

Did the CMOS reset and replaced battery. Only card in it is the PCI
Modem. Still no POST error/beep codes. Lights are on for the keyboard, and power. Owner says it just wouldn't power up one day. No preceding behavioral to indicate any impending hardware failure. I wonder if it's just a dead o/b video chip? Will try adding a PCI video card. Hopefully it will auto detect that(?). If not I'm still open to suggestions. KC "DEJ57" wrote in message ... Addendum from the funeral oration of said machine.
The wife made mention that she told him repeatedly to turn the computer in to the insurance company as part of their claim for lightning damage over a year ago. The machine has been buried under the remains of his deceased fathers personal stuff and hasn't been used since before the lightning strike. She said she knew it was dead because everything else electronic in the house that was plugged in at the time was taken out by the lightning. My apologies for bothering to even ask for help, I should have paid attention and noticed the slight smell of burnt wiring even though there is no outward sign of a power surge. A component by component test has yet to find anything salvageable. KC "Kevin Childers" wrote in message ... Did the CMOS reset and replaced battery. Only card in it is the PCI Modem.
