What is the different between slotted and Socket processor? which one is

sockets have taken over that job these days. it refers to the way the
connector is configured- slotted =slot not unlike a memory dimm or a PCI card. socket= multiple male pinned chip being inseted into a multipinned female connector, nowadays refered to as a "zif"(zero insertion force) when dealing with CPU's.. Slotted processors are not produced anymore. Intel Pentium III's were
