CD Writers, DVD Writers suddenly all seen as CD-ROMs by Windows XP
CD Writers, DVD Writers suddenly all seen as CD-ROMs by Windows XP
The drive icons in Explorer used to identify the type of drive "DVD-RW drive" "DVD Drive" etc, now they all just say "CD Drive". Windows XP built in CD Writing is not available. I've tried deleting various things in Device Manager and re-detecting but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Anyone know how to fix it? -- Brian Gregory (In the UK). To email me remove the letter vee. |

It's just a matter of the OS mislabelling the drive. No biggie to me. Rick. -+--- http://www.alienshore.com/seeking/ |
