Default Nvidia soundstorm

I have an Abit NF7-S motherboard which includes the soundstorm sound
card. Problem is that with both of my condenser microphones, record
level is very low. Any ideas on how to improve it.

Tick the +10dB gain box in the soundstorm control panel.

As my soundstorm is integrated with my mobo, I don't have this checkbox,
however I do have a mic boost checkbox that I imagine does the same job
