Default eRecovery missing backup feature

Hi everybody,
when I enter the eRecovery menu (alt+F10 at boot) I find that it
misses the backup feature. I mean it only displays menu entry about
recovery (from HDD or CD) but nothing about backup TO these media
(should be an entry like "Recovery settings", AFAIK).
Anyway, I never used the original (factory) eRecovery installation,
this situation happens after I removed the factory eRecovery
installation, downloaded the Acer Empowering Technology Framework
from Acer site and then installed it back. Might this be the point?
And if so, how can I overcome this problem?
Thanks in advance for helping, XXX.

Ciccio
