when installing XP pro, after first reboot, system corrected (destroy) files on attached SATA drive
when installing XP pro, after first reboot, windows corrected files on
attached SATA drive (250GB). Now I have correct partition size (NTFS), but incorrect disk size (only 128 GB) and almosy all files are unusable. How to get back to previous state (correct file structure)?

Windows XP, before Service pack one could only access 137GBs, (works out to
about 127GB after formatting). In other words, run windows update to download service pack 1.

The 137 gig limit only applies to IDE drives connected to an IDE port.
It does not apply to non-IDE drives, or even to IDE drives connected via a port using non-IDE drivers (e.g. USB ports, ports on RAID controllers (even in non-Raid modes) that have their own drivers, etc. Frodo wrote: In other words, run windows update to download service pack 1.
