Major Video Problem with TV Wonder USB

The source is a DirecTV receiver hooked up via composite. Also tried
S-video, and coax.

The video plays about 2 seconds worth, then just keeps repeating that small
loops. The audio is fine. Changing the channel on the receiver can be
heard via audio as expected, but the video remains stuck in that 2 second
loop. Even when I turn off the receiver.

I installed, reinstalled, drivers, new drivers, old drivers, etc. Some
changes rendered NO video, but the most is works is as above.

Any ideas? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

So I did more testing and here's what happened - perhaps the additional
details will generate some helpful responses!

1.. Wondering if there may be some sort of copy-protection coming off the
satellite box, I ooked in the analog cable TV line (cable TV service still
active for now as well as satellite.) Scanned for channels and it worked!

2. Connected compostie outs of satellite box to AV in of DV camcorder, fed
that into PC via Firewire. VIdeo capture software picked it up fine. (Nero
6)

3. Nero 6 ALSO was able read the ATI in the same way, worked fine.

4. SO then I got fancy, decided to try out Nero 7. That's where it all
fell apart again, and back to square one - with the jerky 2 sec loop of
video as above..

What could cause this?

So doesn't anyone have any idea about this? Cmon all you techno geeks, help
a brotha out.

What kind of computer is it in? What is the video card? How much
memory?

It's a Dell Inspiron Laptop 9300 (no, the battery has yet to explode)
Win XP SP2
Pent M 1.6
NVideo Geforce GO 6800 256 meg
2 Gig System Memory
Latest drivers and MMC software, Direct X, OS Updates, etc.

Check the manual for the Dell and make sure the TV Wonder is plugged into a
USB 2 port.
Some of Dell's laptops have only one USB 2 port, the others are 1.1 which
would explain the repeating video which requires USB 2.

There is not a single Dell laptop with mixed USB2 and USB1 ports. ALL Dell
laptops that have USB2 have all USB2.

The original TV Wonder USB (the one in the translucent Ruby Red case)
was only a USB 1.x device, not USB 2.0. If he has the newer one, then
"TV Wonder USB" isn't the correct complete name. And it matters a lot,
as the software for the two is totally different.
