Default Soundblaster Live Detected in XP but says No Audio Devices in control panel

An easier plan if it works, just move it to another PCI slot. I had one,
detected, but no sound, moved it to another PCI slot, then it worked.

It's not that unusual. I have the same problem and it worked before I had
to reinstall XP. What's unusual is there is no mention of it anywhere on
MS' site.

Your prob is very unusual, i have a SB Live! 5.1 Digital and it works

fine
under XP.

You don't have any onboard sound or other hardware that might be

conflicting
under Device Manager?

It might even be a motherboard BIOS issue, in which case you would want

to
try a update from the web.

This a repeat of a cry for help a couple of yerars ago which was not
solved and have exactly the same problem, can anyone hepl please

I have a strange error and don't know how to solve it.
I have a SoundBlaster Live 5.1! which is detected correctly by XP.
In theDevice Manager, no error is reported. However I have no sound
at all. When I go in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" Control Panel, it
says "No Audio Device" and all tabs are greyed out.

Any idea how to change this without reinstalling Windows?
