Soundblaster Live Detected in XP but says No Audio Devices in control panel

An easier plan if it works, just move it to another PCI slot. I had one,
detected, but no sound, moved it to another PCI slot, then it worked.

It's not that unusual. I have the same problem and it worked before I had
to reinstall XP. What's unusual is there is no mention of it anywhere on
MS' site.

You don't have any onboard sound or other hardware that might be
conflicting
under Device Manager?

It might even be a motherboard BIOS issue, in which case you would want
to
try a update from the web.

I have a strange error and don't know how to solve it.
I have a SoundBlaster Live 5.1! which is detected correctly by XP.
In theDevice Manager, no error is reported. However I have no sound
at all.When I go in the "Sounds and Audio Devices" Control Panel, it
says "No Audio Device" and all tabs are greyed out.

Any idea how to change this without reinstalling Windows?
