Review of Dell SCSI RAID PCI-X Controllers Versus HP RAID?
Has anyone seen any reviews of Dell PCI-X RAID controllers that benchmark
them against equivalent PCI-X HP RAID controllers? I'm interested in SCSI in a Windows 2000 environment. While I like both Dell and HP servers, I have previously found that the HP RAID controllers are just superbly well optimized, particularly with smaller numbers of drives. I need to upgrade a Dell 6650 server and would prefer to stay with an all-Dell solution but want to see from a benchmark how much (if any) performance I might be giving up. It would be very desirable to find a controller with a large battery-backed cache to optimize writes to the logical volumes that have heavy write I/O. -- Will |
