Default Office 2003

Is there any license arrangement from MS that would allow a vendor to sell
CDR copies of Office 2003 with a photocopied license "sticker?"

Would :-O or 8-O do?

Why gobsmacked though? Are you suggesting this black & white A4 windows
license I have sellotaped to my PC case isn't authentic? The CD I have
looks real enough, it has a Microsoft sticker on and a green bottom.

Background:

Was visiting a friend last night and he had bought the above from Ebay.
They came in sealed cases but are clearly CDRs.

From the vendor:
We specialise in supplying our own branded GENUINE Microsoft software
products to students at the local training centre. As enrolement has
finished until the Autumn, we have a limited number of the latest Office
Professional suites available for home users. snip more sales stuff

Having seen the disks though I said it sounded dodgy so he's obviously
concerned.

Microsoft software should always come with a holographic image on the
top of the disc. If not, phone MS on their piracy line and they will
stomp on the dodgy seller.

Not one bit I can imagine CDR copies for corporate use, i.e. a central
IT dept keeps a master copy then puts it to CDR to install if they
don't have a central networked install point (many do it from
networks). Usually in those cases they keep their own records of
licences in use.

If you are talking a home copy from a company and you have paid for it
I would consider contacting MS about it, at least to query its
authenticity.
