get one free with 5 litres of engine oil.
This timer is nice and loud, can be switched on an off with one
finger, has a decent magnet on the back, can be stood on its prop
without keeling over when you breathe on it, wide viewing angle
for the LCD and so on. In fact it does all that kitchen timers
usually do but better and for almost no more cost. Really
luvverly display too.

I prefer mechanical time keeping. With a digital timer, you never know when
the battery is to run out when you most need it. (The same argument applies
in alarm clocks too: I use two wind-up ones of a traditional design for
important wake-up calls) As this is a forum on bargains, I'd name my
favourite timers:

This one from Netto is just £1, if I remember correctly. The alarm is loud
and clear. It's in the kitchen downstairs and I may be upstairs or anywhere
else in the house.

If you want a designer gear, how about this one (£20 + £7.50 p&p!)?

Here is an unusual design, a nice talking point too!
