epson scanner 3200 perfection photo
I am a new subscriber to this usergroup. I have a question about the
above epson scanner. I work at a film archive in Jerusalem, Israel. I have been trying unsuccessfully to scan 16 mm or 35 mm film on a computer running windows xp. When I scan it on the professional mode, film, positive color film, I receive a light flash as if the light source is insufficient. The frame looks exposed and is unusuable. However when I tried scanning it as a regular photo on the reflexive mode, this flash didn't appear. Has anyone on this group any idea why this is happening and any suggestions on how to best to scan the film scans we need? The scan on photo was better, but very grainy and the color was off. Did you pull the white insert out of the lid before trying to scan film as
shown in the directions? This is the most common issue when people have an error like that. Doug -- www.BetterScanning.com - Custom Film Holders and Accessories for Agfa, Microtek and Epson Scanners |

Actually the weird thing is that the frame scanned better when scanned on photo with the white insert in. Any other suggestions? Wendy Luterman |

Is the lid plugged in and is the light source in the lid lighting up when
you do a film scan (of course using the film setting in the software)? If not, unplug and re-plug the pigtail connector for the lid. Doug -- www.BetterScanning.com - Custom Film Holders and Accessories for Agfa, Microtek and Epson Scanners |
