Default How far will USB travel

Can anybody advise me how far I can send data (video actually) over a USB2
cable.
I was hoping to do 15 metres but something tells me this may be too far for
USB.
Thanks for any constructive replies.

The official spec says 5 meters but you can daisy chain several small hubs
together to go further. Cables longer than 5M may work or may be unreliable.
They are unlikely to work at 15 meters so...

You can also buy "active" cable extenders..

This one 16 feet but you can use 5 to get to 80 feet.

This one claims USB 2.0 rates upto 50 meters...

There is also a device that transfers USB to CAT5/6 and moves it
hundreds of metres.

I have a printer on 7 meters (5m + 2 extensions of 1m), which works.
However adding one more meter makes it unreliable.

Since USB2 is specified for 5m, forget about getting 15m from it.
Also if you use 3 segments of 5m each and USB2 hubs in between,
I think you will need externally powerd hubs.

Thanks for the replies guys.
That Icron brand one looks like what I want, but here in OZ I have been
quoted $950 for it.
I don't think so.
