How does the 2.8e compares with the 2.8. Anyone with first hand

experience.

Is it worth getting the 2.8e? Everything the same as the 2.8 but the 1

MB
cache? What would be a better Motherboard for the 2.8e if the latter

beats
the 2.8?

Hope my questions make sense.

Thanks.

2.8e is actually slower than the regular northwood 2.8.

The Prescott 2.8e, runs slower hotter and costs more. I would stay away

from
the 2.8e and stick with the regular northwood 2.8 which performs
better,cooler and cheaper.

One of the systems I'm building is going to someone who will o/c it, and
based on some *early* information from someone else who has one, the
2.8E has more potential. I expect to see reports on this soon, and I
expect to assemble at least one Friday.

The 2.8 Northwood overclocks better, and the Prescott 2.8 is not only
slower/hotter but even if you OC it to 3.2 GHZ its actually slower than the
2.8 in some applications.

I actually just bought the 2.8 E last week and love it. I am running 1
GB of Kingston Hyper-X PC4000 on a ASUS PaC800 Deluxe Board. I am not
an overclocking genius but have it running stable at 3.5 with an FSB
of 1000, it is air cooled with a Zalman cpu cooler and Arctic Siver 5
in a Cooler Master case. My temps are 31 (CPU) and 34 (MB). I have no
heat issues and just ran 3dMark 2001 with a score of 16570. How that
compares with others I have no idea, but I haven't had the heat issues
alot of people talk about.
