old PC:

-Asus P4P800-S
-P4 2,8 800Fsb
-2x 512M ddr pc3200 evirex
-Geffo 4 ti4200 128M agp 4x VIVO
-Hercules digifire 7.1
-2x HD maxtor 80G 2M buffer
-Plextor 40/10/40a
-Plextor 708a
-win XPpro


Problems:

Silent hill 4 :Freeze after 10/15 minutes playing
Farcry : Freeze after 10/15 minutes playng
Perimeter : no problems
Crazy taxy 3 :freeze after 10/15 minutes playng
Crazy taxy 3 .exe in compatible mode on win98/me : no problems.
Panzers : no problems
Starsky & hutch : freeze after 10/15 minutes playng
Richards burn rally : freeze after 10/15 minutes playing


soluctions tryed :
-upgrade DX --same probles
-upgrade Video driver --same problems
-upgrade chipset drivers--same problems
-upgrade bios --same problems
-Format c: whith all upgrades software and clean install of XPpro--- same
problems
-upgrade to geffo fx 5700 128M agp 8x ---- same problems
-upgrade to 1x 512M ddr pc3200 adata --- same problems
-upgrade to 1x 160G hd Maxtor 8m buffer -- same problems

what i can do now?? why this problems ???

How hot is the CPU? The inside of the case? The GPU?

Do you have a good quality power supply?

What is "normal 300W", exactly?

It may be power supply, but I saw no mention of sound
driver, would try updating that too.

Also since you specified same interval (10/15) for the
freeze, look at power management settings, if any are set to
that interval and disable PM for the time being to test
that.

I agree, I think it's the power supply. A lower end 300W is not enough for
that system. Odds are if you don't know what kind's in there, it's a low end
one. A really good one, by Sparkle or some other brand name, would be good
enough but I'd go for 350 or 400W.

Also, take the side of your PC off and check to see if the video/cpu fans
are operating.

In any case, get a better power supply.

Doesn't seem very likely with the game playing for 10
minutes before it happens.
