Default Upgrading nVidia drivers?

I currently am running an AMD FX57 in SLI (7800GTX from eVGA), windows XP
sp2, version 84.21 video driver installed and everything runs well.
Question, should I upgrade to the latest version posted on the nVidia web
site? Would I gain anything or am I just asking for trouble?

When you do upgrade the video driver, is it OK to just install over the
original one?

Thanks,
Randy

The latest Nvidia drivers are : 84.63 with some minor fixes. If the drivers
that your using are not giving you problems, there no need to upgrade.

When install updated drivers, you should always uninstall the old one first,
then install the new upgraded drivers.

Driver Installation Rule #1: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Not having any problems? Don't update the drivers. If drivers are released
that supposedly fix a problem you're having, update them. I *might* update
drivers after quite a while of not updating though, if I read that there's
reasonably faster performance, or they have some new features I want.

Reinstalling drivers is too belt and suspenders IMO. The only time I
uninstall is with a GPU change. Then you want to run something like
CCleaner too. I don't know how many times over the years I installed
new drivers but it is a bunch and never a problem that required an
uninstall. If that were to happen, safe mode cleanup is still investing
a lot less time.
