monitor troubles, only way to describe is "vibrating"
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1 Saviour wrote: my monitor keeps doing this it has a slight "vibration" effect (similar to the way it shakes when you degauss it, not as intense though) Some individuals are quite sensitive to the 60 Hz 'refresh rate sometimes set as a default. If you're using Windows (95, 98x, NT 4.0, 2000, probably XP) check the monitor refresh rate under display properties. Right-click on a blank area of the desktop, select 'properties', select 'settings', then select 'advanced'. You should see a tab for 'Monitor'. A drop-down menu will contain by default the refresh rate(s) available to the monitor. If it is set at '60', select a value such as 72 or 75 from the list. Follow the prompts to save the setting or re-adjust it. You may need to perform some minor screen re-adjustment (to re-center the image, etc.) after the change to the refresh rate. - -- Ron n1zhi -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFAa9vqa9fyRcf4bIYRAq5ZAJ4zTSJrzNGO6vG/VAa6zlhtvepOfQCePVou OuKMY6aV5TUqVXb32fdhtag= =bpNT -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |

Ye you tried moving hte speakers round, but did you try moving the
screen to other locations, as the earth has some EM radiation too which can affect it and that depends on the place you put it... Mind you that if you have lots of metal or other good conductors, they will be conducting your EM influence all around your place. So put the scree on a wooden or other none conducting surface e.g. a bed or something like that. Also try to increase your refresh a bit more if you can, as sometimes these rates are still to low for human eye not to notice them (depends on the person though) Secondly are you using a decent monitor cable, which has the ticker rings around it at least at one end, as that should also take care of any EM interfercen coming through the cable Saviour wrote: yup i've tried moving the speakers around, the thing is they've always been in the same place i'm thinking it might be something directly below, or in the room next door theres a speaker close to the ceiling in the room directly below..but its never plugged in |

I had one case where the monitor and computer had to be moved to
another spot in the room. Interference was coming from a motor (like the furnace) or other AC circuit in the house such as a fluorescent light fixture. I forget what it was, it was something stupid. I do not agree that speakers can cause this sort of problem. There is not enough AC interference in that kind of circuitry. It is all low voltage. You should also check your AC outlet for proper wiring. You can get a wall plug tester for under $10 at the hardware store. A poor ground, or wrong wiring in the power plug, can cause weird problems that are hard to track. This could be why I have no hair left. Have you had recent alien visitations? Good luck. |
