External casing for two or more harddisks.
Good evening,
The last few years I sold some old computers and notebooks to clear out my room a bit. One of the only things I kept are harddisks. And there are quite a large amount of them left . I am now looking for a casing that can house two or more SATA or PATA drives and can be connected to the computer via USB 2.0. RAID capability is nice, but not required. I found some casings on a USA site, but unfortunately they don't deliver internationaly (I live in the Netherlands). O ... and are there casings available for two or more 2.5" SATA or PATA drives? Does somebody know a place where I can find/order someting? It would be great to have a massive "storage box" available for all my phtotgraphs, videos, music and virtual CD's. Thanks, Erwin |

Thanks, Erwin Put each drive in a removable bay and keep them on a shelf like books. I have over a dozen that are filed this way. I used to have them in a case when I had less but that only generates heat and can cause premature failure among other difficulties. Much better to have at least less used drives or older opens that are living on borrowed time sitting cool. If you were to use firewire interface I believe you may add not have to reboot as you would with the removable bays. |
